The Bureau of Information & Telecommunications(BIT) department  manages the State Centrex Telephone 

Service in Pierre, SD.  They provide telephone service to State offices and  the South Dakota School of MInes

and Technology (SDSM&T) and interface and coordinate between agencies and service providing vendors.

Their staff is responsible for processing requests for telephone line installations, service, and feature

changes and locations, this process can take a few days.  BIT needs to be advised of any service needed

with your lines when adding or changing - they will not usually be included unless requested (ie.voicemail,

call forwarding etc)

                           NOTE* Billing, Budget Changes, Cellular Phone Rental and Conference Phone will

                                         be governed through the SDSMT Purchasing  Office.
